The 2019 Skoda Polar could get a totally new shape, engine, and the name! The crossover is rendered and it is coming next season. However, the most exciting model in its lineup could be the Vision X. This natural gas hybrid SUV will grow, but will still be a part of the compact segment. The base model with conventional powertrain will suffer exterior and interior updates. Specifications could be slightly different than we expect, the latest news explains.
From the concept images, we can conclude that the new 2019 Skoda Polar will share a lot in common with Fabia hatchback. Nevertheless, it is going to be capable to rival Hyundai Kona and Kia Stonic. But, if Vision X makes its way into production, then we must expect the response from all competitors.
2019 Skoda Polar Dimensions
With the Vision X, the carmaker gives an outlook on his third SUV, the 2019 Skoda Polar. Dimensions of the concept car should largely match with those of the production version. The length of 4.25 meters actually barely settle these vehicles in the small SUVs class. By comparison, the Seat Arona, which is also based on the MQB A0 platform, is just about ten inches shorter than the Vision X. The extra length should lead to more space in the cabin, which also depends on the vehicle width of 1.87 meters. Also, the wheelbase is 2.65 meters long.
Styling
While the premiere of the Vision X does not unveil too much about specs of the standard models, it shows us what to expect from design. Nevertheless, the standard model will be more conventional, but overall shapes and dimensions will be very similar. Skoda will definitely keep black wheel arches, while 20-inch wheels are probably an optional feature for Polar. The cockpit we saw at the premiere is typical for a concept car. Futuristic and stylish, with a lot of show-off features, the cabin will definitely get different dashboard and seats for the production model of 2019 Skoda Polar.
2019 Skoda Polar Specifications
For the market launch, the 2019 Skoda Polar will have two gasoline engines. Both are three-cylinder mills. One can develop 95 hp through a 5-speed gearbox, and other one adds 20 hp and 6-pace transmission. Diesel engines are not sure yet, as well as the new four-cylinder drivetrain. This is eventually the most potent version of 2019 polar with 150 hp under the hood.
2019 Skoda Vision X Specs

The natural gas is in two tanks. One is under rear seats, and the other is at the back.
Additional energy is coming from a generator. A 1.5 kW battery supplies 21 kW electric motor that drives the rear axle only. It is capable to boost performance during high-speed acceleration or as the only source of power at low speeds. With such combo, the 2019 Skoda vision X can sprint to 100 km/h in 9.3 seconds, while the top speed is 200 km/h.
