Renault officially confirmed the redesign details for their SUV Kadjar. Although it is not about numerous innovations compared to its predecessors, the new model will still bring some important improvements as well as interior and exterior changes. At first impression, we can say that Renault Kadjar 2020 is going to keep familiar C-shaped lights. But LED daytime running lights now have integrated LED direction indicators. Upper trim levels will get redesigned LED fog lamps as standard equipment. It reduces energy consumption by six times compared to conventional halogen lights.
Bumpers are also new. There are also additional chrome-plated decorations. The Renault Kadjar 2020 will use the new 17-, 18-, and 19-inch wheels at top of the class trim levels. The most important change is under the hood. Renault’s new 1.3-liter turbocharged petrol engine is taking the position there. It is a product of a partnership with Daimler. The powertrain offers a filter that destroys all particles in the exhaust gases by capturing them in a honeycomb structure. It automatically regenerates at regular intervals. This TCe engine is available in versions with 140 and 160 hp and can be paired with a six-speed manual or automatic double-clutch transmission.
Renault Kadjar 2020 Specs
The 1.3-liter unit is not the only option for the Renault Kadjar 2020. The offer of diesel engines has been improved by the selective catalytic reduction system (SCR). The revamped Kadjar will offer two diesel engines. The first one is the Blue dCi unit that is capable to produce 115 horsepower. The other one is the Blue dCi 150 engine with, as you can predict, 150 hp. Depending on the engine selection, a manual and EDC automatic transmission will be available. Also, these gearboxes can send power to both 4×2 and 4×4 configurations.
Interior Changes
The cockpit of the reconstructed Renault Kadjar 2020 also expects to enhance. The central console has been completely redesigned and it has a stylish, multimedia touchscreen. Just below the display are new air conditioning controls. The French carmakerclaims that it has used better quality materials in interior design, including these around the ventilation holes, as well as the interior door panels.
Renault Kadjar 2020 Hybrid
Renault has a strong partnership with Nissan. The Japanese company is one of the leaders in the electric market. The cooperation can lead to the hybridization of the Renault Kadjar 2020. It is not impossible, especially with the strong influence of the French green parties. Well, this country plans to cut all conventional engines (petrol and diesel) beyond 2030. It is a long shot from this perspective, but the entire automotive industry is becoming greener.
Renault Kadjar 2020 Competition, Price
The new Renault Kadjar 2020 will get a new price tag after the redesign. With the least powerful TC engine, it costs 25,000 euros. High-end models with Black Edition features and 4×4 drive system will climb up to 40,000 euros.
Of course, its main rival will come from France. Peugeot 3008 is also preparing some changes for the upcoming season. Although they are partners, Nissan also has an SUV in this class – Qashqai. The popularity of Ford Kuga and Hyundai Tucson is growing, while the main competitor from Germany is going to be Opel Mokka.
