It takes the position between the Rogue and Kicks. If we compare it to a smaller sibling, Rogue Sport will offer more room for passengers in the second row. But, it lacks cargo space behind it. With seats folded down, Rogue Sport is again in an advantage. This crossover will be available in the USA only, and buyers will choose between three trim levels and two drive modes.
The biggest question about the 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport is if the crossover is getting a new engine. We were hoping it could be a hybrid. But, its European sibling Qashqai is using a new 1.3 petrol unit with three cylinders. Could this one take the position under the hood of the US model? We will see soon. Until then, a 2.0-liter four-pot drivetrain remains the only source of power.
2020 Nissan Rogue Sport Redesign
The crossover is relatively new, launched in 2017. It is still questionable if the 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport needs a redesign. But, the evolution of this class dictates the tempo of changes. Also, rival companies are not sitting calm. So, the new Rogue Sport will definitely bring some updates. If these are going to be big to call them a redesign, we will see soon. We are sure that small details will be added for the crossover. Also, the 2020 Rogue Sport is bringing new colors. There are six paintjobs available for this vehicle, and all are the same for three trim levels. The Japanese carmaker will definitely make some premium offers with unique paints. The entry-level model is again Rogues Sport S with two-wheel drive. Highlights of this version are 7-inch touchscreen screen, alerts for rear-cross traffic and blind spots, and automatic braking in emergency situations. When you step up for the SV trim level, you will get larger wheels. Inside, driver seat gets 8-way adjusting with 2-way lumbar support. Intelligent features are added. The coolest one is lane intervention. In the future, Nissan will add more self-driving equipment. We expect their vehicle soon at Level 3 of autonomous drive. Top of the line model will be 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport SL. Pro Pilot assist is standard, as well as the around view monitor. The leather interior adds elegance and comfort. Of course, all these upgrades will raise the price of the Rogue Sport crossover.
2020 Nissan Rogue Sport Specs
Until the 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport gets a new engine, or at least until the company confirms it, the engine room will get a 2.0-l four-cylinder powertrain. Mated to a CVT, this mill can produce 140 hp and 147 lb-ft of torque. It is up to buyers if they want a front- or an all-wheel drive setup. The first configuration returns 25/33 mpg, while improvements on the system will make an AWD model run 28 mpg combined. The Rogue Sport is not a leader in outputs, but the combination of specs raises this crossover above the average of its class.
New Engine
As for its Euro sibling, the Japanese company could bring the all-new 1.3-l engine to the US. Qashqai gains either 140 or 160 hp from this turbo unit. On the other hand, the transmission is also different. Nissan will use a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox for this engine. It will boost gas mileage above 30 mpg combined. Front-wheel drive is definitely a standard setup, while AWD configuration will probably be optional.

Hybrid
This is another option for the 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport. If the crossover gets a hybrid engine, we can count that fuel economy will jump to 35 mpg combined. Well, it is already available for its larger sibling Rogue. Compact vehicle is offering this setup with two upper trim levels. Rogue Sport could borrow this system, which creates 176 horsepower. On the other hand, positioned between compact and subcompact segment, Rogue Sport is not going to have too many rivals. So, this is going to be another cool option for all buyers that opt for this model.
When Will 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport Hybrid Be Available?
A hybrid might be the major upgrade for the 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport. The configuration is upgrading an existing 2.0 powertrain. So, engineers won’t spend too much time tuning it for Rogue’s smaller sibling. The crossover could arrive by the end of 2019. On the other hand, it will push the price to start around $25,000. Top of the class SL trim with the hybrid system will cost $30,000.
