The upcoming 2019 Lexus NX is a company’s smallest luxury-crossover SUV that managed to gain a huge success in the markets. Whatsoever, it is one of Lexus’ most popular models overall. With that in mind, Lexus has no needs to mess with a good and successful thing, so the new NX will remain the same, but with a couple of refreshments. With everything in place, Lexus NX shares its platform with Toyota RAV4 and it owns a unique bold design. Inside, dashboard and instrument panel looks futuristic, leather seats are optional and the seats are roomy.
While some competitors such as Infiniti QX30 or Mercedes-Benz GLA 250 cost slightly less, neither of them are offering a hybrid engine. The newest model 2019 Lexus NX will come with two engine options NX 300 and NX 300h. The first one is with the turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and next one with letter h is the hybrid model.
2019 Lexus NX Exterior keeps the large spindle grille
The 2019 Lexus NX is really making a statement in terms of exterior design, this SUV is everything but subtle. Thanks to its aggressive front grille, that statement is even more pronounced. It is interesting to keep an eye on one model that is going from boring to adventurous over the years, and Lexus NX did exactly that. Detailed headlights and taillights look amazing and the whole body styling is taken on another level.
Tall roof, black lower-body, and even tapered front bumper make Lexus NX look like an SUV, however, dimensionally it could easily be mistaken for a hatchback. The city parking is easy, just like maneuvering. The previous model known as the NX200t is replaced with the model NX300 model.
2019 Lexus NX Interior is perfectly crafted
The interior of an all-new 2019 Lexus NX looks and feels perfect. Everything inside the cabin looks kinda edgy, and the quality of materials is superb. From the stitches on the dash to the plenty of soft-touch surfaces, the NX looks sophisticated and fashionable. Passenger space could’ve been better as some rivals are offering better legroom and headroom.
The new touch-pad interface for the Remote Touch is updated and is more intuitive, and the telescoping steering wheel now comes as standard. The driving position is good, and most controls are easy to use and reach. Large exterior mirrors can now be controlled via a simple directional pad that is placed on the door panel.
Standard and Optional Equipment
The upcoming 2019 Lexus NX will get many features in the standard package. The interior in the standard package will get a 7-inch screen with voice recognition, Bluetooth connectivity, AM/FM/CD Lexus Display Audio system with 8 speakers, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, LED taillights, LED interior lighting, HVAC system and Navigation. As for the standard safety features, the new model will get forward-collision warning system, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning and high beams.
The optional features will bring advanced Navigation Package. This new package will include newest Lexus Enform system that will bring an app like Yelp, Bing, IHeartRadio and others. Also, there is the Leather package that will get comfort and premium one. This will adds premium leather seats that are heated and ventilated with 8-way configurations,
However, if one chooses F Sport model it will get aluminum pedals and a sport-tuned suspension. In the optional equipment, one will get bigger 8-inch touchscreen display.
2019 Lexus NX Engines will be available with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive
Two drivetrain options are available with new 2019 Lexus NX. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is the same as on the outgoing model. This unit is producing 240 HP and 260 lb-ft of torque. This model comes will be also available with sport package known as F Sport. The engine with this package will get fuel economy in the city/highway 22/27 mpg. However, without this package, the model will give 22/28 mpg.
Those numbers aren’t enough to blow the competition away, but it is more than enough power for the casual drivers. With this engine, Lexus NX hits 0 to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds, which is a class-average result. This engine will be available with front-wheel drive system or all-wheel drive.
2019 Lexus NX300h
The hybrid model is a combination of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a two electric motor that puts a total of 195 HP. Furthermore, the electric model that sits on the front end is able to make 141 HP and the rear one delivers 67 HP.
The continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) is available as well, for both drivetrain options. The AWD on the hybrid model is standard. However, if you are a fan of fuel economy over performance than the hybrid is your thing. This one engine is capable to give EPA city/highway fuel economy of 33/30 mpg.
2019 Lexus NX Price and Release Date
The starting price of the upcoming 2019 Lexus NX starts at $37,500. The hybrid will cost slightly over $41,500. Lexus NX will hit the dealerships later this year, while hybrid model at some point in 2019.
Of course it”s not new, but Lexus is now much more dependent on its FWD models for sales than any time before. There were days when Lexus was able to sell the GS (25-33k) and the LS (25-35k) in far greater volume than they do now, as well as the IS (45-55k). And one simply can”t blame the move to CUVs as the E Class and 5 Series both had their best sales years in 2013. If the rumors are accurate the GS is either canceled for real this time or is being turned into a low volume “4-door coupe or liftback, and Lexus turned the LS 500 into a more niche model w/ its sloping roofline and less interior room in the rear rather than continuing to face the S Class head to head. For the past few years, Lexus wouldn”t have missed GS and LS sales.
Truly…love and love Lexus!! Lexus is the Best!! I would not drive any other vehicles, except Only LEXUS!! The coming year of 2019-20, Lexus cars are going very higher with their qualities and designs!! They look so marvelous and suphisticated!! But only one single shape has now gotten quite widely in the front and I am not so much liking it. It looks like as if in the front the car has been smashed or what? Then may be the front portion of the car can be changed with a different designs…and look better!! Thank you!
