Luxury SUVs are quite the rage these days and every company is bringing out its contender to woo the buyers. Lexus GX is one odd contender in this segment and it is an option if you do not want the German or Italian models. This luxury midsized SUV was introduced back in 2002. Since then it has got several smaller changes. Positioned between LX SUV and RX crossover, it has enough off-roading prowess though amenities need improvement. For 2019, it is getting a makeover.
The exterior styling of 2019 GX 460 is a bit odd and the updated frontal styling is aimed at disguising its similarities with Toyota Land Cruiser – on which it is based. It sir sold in three trims- base, premium, and luxury. The spindle redesigned grille is there at the front. Also, the bumper and front LED foglights are slightly revised. The cabin is lavish but you may not find it aesthetic. There is enough space for 6 to 7 passengers. Cargo capacity is just average. There are some small item storage options including door pockets and cup holders.
The last year model has received only minor changes. These changes include standard Semi-Aniline bench seat in the GX 460 Luxury package and heated front seats in Base package. For the 2019 Lexus GX 460, we are expecting notable exterior changes.
Interior and Exterior:
The 2019 Lexus GX460 remains 7-seater, 3-row midsize luxury midsize SUV. So, it has the same length of 192.1 in, with is 74.2 in, height is 74.2 in and wheelbase is 109.8 in. It has many different configurations for the passengers inside cargo space. The third row is fantastic for children and the second row has enough space for adults. The base trim has upholstery, while Premium and Luxury comes with real lather.
The current version of GX 460 has old fashion boxy design, however, we are expecting 2019 version with more modern and sharper exterior.

The 2019 Lexus GX 460 is powered by a 4.6-liter V-8 engine. This engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission gearbox. It churns out 301 HP and has 329 lb-ft of torque. The ride quality is superb owing to the deployment of Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System. This luxury SUV takes almost 8 seconds to reach 60 mph from 0 but it is quite heavyweight so that is not exactly deal breaker. The Luxury trim gets adaptive dampers which enhance ride quality even more.

2019 Lexus GX 460 Spec:
2019 Lexus GX 460 gets decent safety features as well as amenities but it still lags behind most segment rivals in these departments.
All trims are equipped with traction control, 10 airbags, and a rearview camera. Standard amenities include 18-inch wheels, cruise control, keyless ignition, 2-zone automatic climate control, moonroof, Bluetooth, HD radio and 8.0-inch touch screen unit for infotainment control. The base model can be laden with navigation, blind-spot monitors, and ventilated front seats.
On the other hand, the Premium model gets heated and ventilated seats, navigation, 3-zone climate control, and mahogany trim. The Luxury version adds adaptive suspension, heated and wood-trimmed steering wheel, and better upholstery. Optionally it is equipped with rear-seat DVD entertainment setup and a premium Mark Levinson audio system.
The advanced safety features are offered in optional Driver Support package. It includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, off-road crawl control, and automatic high beams. The infotainment system needs polishing and it can be awkward for first-time users.

Summing it up
