The 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is coming out next year. The company is not providing too many details, but we can see interesting renderings by fans and enthusiasts. What is more important, spy photos are confirming the release date is near. On the other hand, we don’t know too much about the design. Is it going to bring back the trademark wooden graphics? We hope so.
The new SUV will take the position in the full-size segment and the 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is a three-row model. Seating capacity is either seven or eight, while the middle row comes with optional chairs. The FCA is finally introducing the big rig to compete with Chevy Tahoe and Ford Expedition.
The arrival of the Grand Wagoneer is part of a larger plan. The company is turning Dodge Durango into the BoF model, while the FCA is going to produce more Grand Cherokees. The full-size SUV completes the lineup. The engine range is not a worry since the carmaker poses large and powerful drivetrains which can perfectly suit the big rig.

Another Seven-Seater by FCA
Currently, the Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles is offering only the Dodge Durango as a three-row SUV. We can hear that Grand Cherokee is getting a third-row bench as well. This model is still not out and the changes could arrive with the redesign in 2021. Whatsoever, the new Grand Wagoneer is definitely going to be a seven-seater. The capacities of the SUV are not available yet, but the vehicle should offer around 100 cubic feet of interior space with all seats folded. The mystery is if there will be an eight-seat option with captain’s chairs cutting the capacity to seven spots.
One Place For All 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Rumors
Wagoneer vs Grand Wagoneer
It is still unclear what does the FCA plans with its largest SUV. Chiefs announced the arrival, but both 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer are mentioned. It is possible to see the standard and extended models. Ford Expedition MAX is a longer vehicle than the base SUV, while General Motors offers Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon, and Suburban/Yukon XL have a longer body and more space inside. In this case, Grand Wagoneer would be that extended mode, with at least 20 inches more than the base SUV.

2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Specs
There are no doubts – the 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will get a 5,7-liter powerhouse as its base unit. A 3.6-liter Pentastar is too small for the full-size vehicle. The SUV will offer 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. Also, the towing capacity of the big rig will be at least 8,500 pounds. Engineers are pairing this drivetrain with an eight-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to rear wheels. All-wheel drive provides better traction, but the towing capacity is lower. The 4WD also consumes more fuel.
2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Trackhawk
In the future, Jeep is not going to offer the SRT version. It is going to be an exclusive trim for Dodge vehicles. However, the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine will be part of the lineup. What was the SRT performance-oriented model is now Trackhawk. The drivetrain is able to produce 475 hp, while there are rumors that engineers will go after 500 hp. Also, the engine adds 480 lb-ft of torque.
Trackhawk is currently the most powerful SUV in the market. Jeep Grand Cherokee is using a supercharged 6.2-liter engine for 707 horsepower. This version is not going to be offered for the upcoming 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer.

Production
Big changes will make room for the 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The company is moving the production of Dodge Durango away from the current facilities (Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Michigan). After the clearance, the factory will have more room for Grand Cherokee and Wagoneer.
FCA already announced that they will produce more mid-size SUVs, and there will be room for the 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer as well. On the other hand, the new generation of the Dodge Durango will be built in Warren Truck Assembly, Michigan.
When Will 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Be Available?
The production of the new SUV will start late in 2020 and the vehicle is going to be delivered to dealerships immediately. We believe the price of the base model will be around $52,000, while the extended version is going to reach $55k. Ex-SRT model, now Trackhawk is going to be the most expensive version. Jeep will probably offer an off-road oriented version. A diesel model is not certain yet, but it is more likely that we will see the EcoDiesel unit, rather than a hybrid.
Competition
As said, the 2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will see the biggest competition from the other two big US carmakers. Besides Expedition, Yukon, and Tahoe/Suburban, there are also two Japanese full-size SUVs – Toyota Sequoia and Nissan Armada. If you want more premium packages, then shift the attention to Lexus LX, Lincoln Navigator, or Infiniti QX80.
