Turbo and Diesel Engine
The vehicle lacks more drivetrain options. So, the FCA is considering other power sources for the 2020 Jeep Compass. The most likely outcome could be the turbocharged petrol unit. That is a 2.0-liter four-pot engine capable to produce 270 horsepower. It was already available for Limited Edition, but now becomes a standard part of the offer. A nine-speed automatic transmission is a power router.
Another option for the 2020 Jeep Compass is a diesel unit. Well, this vehicle is already using this kind of engine, but not in the USA. Many buyers will compare again 2020 Jeep Compass vs Jeep Cherokee. Well, these two are both compact crossover SUVs with many similarities. First of all, Cherokee is longer and it comes with an extended wheelbase. Still, the same engine is under the hood of both crossovers. The extra length does not provide more space inside the larger vehicle. It is quite opposite though. After the Compass entered a new generation, its interior layout is offering more cargo space. From the base unit to the top of the range models, we will find a lot of interesting accessories. The good thing is that Jeep is offering many options right from the start. The base model is going to be 2020 Jeep Compass Sport, with MSRP around $22,000. The most expensive crossover is High Altitude with a price tag of $31,000. Between these two there are at least six more trim levels. Apple CarPlay is available for the entry-level model. The standard vehicle includes 16-inch wheels, most trims are using 17-inchers, while the largest sets are 19-inch wheels. Upper models are using unique paintjobs. Inside the cockpit, there are 27 cubic feet of cargo volume. With second row seats folded, the space increases to 60 cubic feet.
When Will 2020 Jeep Compass Be Available?
The restyling of the 2020 Jeep Compass will take some time. However, the FCA must keep their mind on the competition. The new model will be available in the first quarter next year. Only major upgrades could bring the premiere this year. In case the engineers are going to present a hybrid or diesel engine, the new Compass will be available by the end of 2019.
