Jeep Company introduced the updated Cherokee model at the North American International Auto Show in January. The 2019 Jeep Cherokee is compact-SUV that gets a slight facelift, front and rear redesign and also gets another drivetrain option. It looks rugged and is a great off-road performer. Both comfortable and quiet, the cabin also gained additional tech features.
Cherokee is one of the few mid-size SUVs to offer a V6 engine and that’s a big plus. The new redesign means that Jeep decided to drop the Sport trim and added a Latitude Plus trim.
2019 Jeep Cherokee Outstanding Look
The exterior of 2019 Jeep Cherokee looks great overall, the front end loses those rounded headlights with the strange arrangement. The last year model was so criticized for that kind of move, and Jeep immediately decided to change that. The new front is using now one-piece headlights with daytime running lights that sit into the same housing.
At the back, new LED taillights sit with some nice red accents and clear lenses. The license plate is now placed on the tailgate instead on the bumper. That bumper is completely new, the old plastic one is replaced with an upscale black bumper with chrome trim. Trailhawk models come with a higher ride, red-painted skid plates, and tow hooks. 2019 Jeep Cherokee Interior
The upcoming 2019 Jeep Cherokee is a 2-row/5-passenger SUV with some traditional Jeep cues like the trapezoidal center stack. The layout looks upscale with modern touches and the front seats are nicely padded and comfortable. However, the higher trim levels offer a heated and ventilated seats with power adjustments. Second-row seats can be moved forward or backward for better legroom and they fold flat in order to maximize the cargo space.
On Latitude models, even the front-passenger seat folds. The interior will come in Black w/Cloth Bucket Seats and Light Frost Beige/Black w/Cloth Bucket Seats. Cargo Space and Dimensions
The cargo capacity that will offer new model 2019 Jeep Cherokee is 54.9 cubic feet which are nowhere near class leader Honda CR-V that offers 75.8 cubic feet. The new model will be able to accumulate five passengers.
The dimension of the passenger volume is 128 ft³, front headroom comes with 39.4 inches and the second headroom is 38.5 inch. The new model will total weight 4046 lbs.

2019 Jeep Cherokee Engine Performance
Two engine options are available with 2019 Jeep Cherokee. Standard powertrain is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that can produce up to 185 HP and 172 lb-ft of torque. As we mentioned, the forthcoming Cherokee is one of a few models that offer V6 it mid-size SUV segment. An optional 3.2-liter V6 is capable of producing 272 HP and 240 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are using a 9-speed automatic transmission with front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive setups.

Furthermore, this engines will be available with three 4WD systems, the base one is Jeep Active Drive I, Active Drive II and Active Drive Lock that is only available for the Trailhawk model.
Towing Capacity and Fuel Economy
The newly 2019 Jeep Cherokee can tow with the 2,4-liter engine around 2,000 pounds. However, with the other one turbocharged it can maximum tow V6 unit helps Cherokee to tow up to 4,500 pounds. The EPA city/highway fuel economy for the first one engine is 21/30 mpg for the FWD system, 21/28 mpg 4WD Active Drive I, 21/27 mpg for the Active Drive II and 19/25 mpg for the model 4WD Trailhawk.
The turbocharged one is capable to give similar fuel economy than the base one 21/29 mpg for the front wheel drive, 20/27 mpg all-wheel drive and Active Drive I, 18/26 mpg Active Drive II and 18/24 mpg for the Trailhawk with all-wheel drive.
2019 Jeep Cherokee Price, Release Date and Competitors
The approaching 2019 Jeep Cherokee is starting at $26,000. If one needs AWD system it must extra pay another $1,500. Trailhawk model will cost over $32,500 and Latitude Plus trim starts at 27,500. The top-range Overland model slightly over $35,500. All-new Cherokee will hit the markets at the beginning of 2019.
