The new generation of the QX80 full-size SUV will be built on the Monograph Concept. We can see it already during next season. The 2020 Infiniti QX80 will launch the third series of this nameplate after ten years in a current generation. The new concept will keep all the highlights from the predecessor. However, major downsides will be fixed, such as agility and fuel economy. Also, Infiniti could add Apple CarPlay for the QX80’s infotainment system. Android Auto is not certain yet.
The new 2020 Infiniti QX80 SUV will be as stylish as its predecessors were. Safety is at the highest level. Fairly cheap, the buyer can upgrade it without problems. Interior is a piece of art for every Infinity crossover and SUV. The new Monograph concept will make the vehicle bolder and elegant. Unique colors are giving a special touch for the overall design. Finally, the powerful V8 lays under the hood of the Infiniti QX80 2020. That is the same unit we can find in Nissan Armada. However, for the next-gen premium SUV, this 5.6-liter displacement will come with more power and torque.
2020 Infiniti QX80 Redesign and New Generation
The new Monograph Concept is ready and the Infiniti QX80 will use it as architecture for the next generation. Already in 2020, we can expect production.
The Monograph platform was released in 2017 as the new full-size SUV. Now it takes a large portion in building the next 2020 Infiniti QX80. We still don’t know how big impact the new platform will have or the upcoming vehicle. But, the front fascia is stunning, and totally fits Infiniti’s design language. Well, 24-inches wheels will hardly find its way into production. 21-inch rims are more suitable. Unique and slim headlights will keep LED lamps inside. The grille is bigger and wider. It will make a statement for the big-size SUV wherever it appears.
Interior
The Monograph Concept presented only the exterior of the SUV. But, we don’t have too many clues about the interior and cabin equipment. Well, all predecessors of the 2020 Infiniti QX80 stood out with its elegance and features. There is no way that the new model will be less stunning. Huge infotainment screen speeds up the response. We will also see a new feature there – Apple CarPlay. Unfortunately, owners of previous QX80 editions didn’t have this service. Also, we expect to see Android Auto, also unavailable for the current lineup.
The safety is on the highest level thanks to the premium driver assist package. Many sensors will detect a potential danger and warn a driver. Blind Spot warning is one of the best in class. Automatic braking will be turned on when it recognizes forward collision.
2020 Infiniti QX80 Configurations and Packages
There will be one new level of equipment available for 2020 Infiniti QX80. The entry-level model will be Pure, as for the smaller QX50. You can upgrade features from this package with accessories that brings Luxe set. However, top of the class model will be Limited. It comes with all possible upgrades and features the QX80 full-size SUV is offering.
One of the coolest addition to the 2020 Infiniti QX80 will remain the Theater Package. An eight-inch monitor is in the back of each headrest. With second-row captain chairs, the theater impression is getting a boost. You only need popcorns. The USB port is there for passengers in the back seat, so they can play their favorite movie or TV show. Buyers can also opt for packages with more safety and alert features.
2020 Infiniti QX80 Drivetrain
Under the bonnet of the 2020 Infiniti QX80, everything remains the same. There we will find a 5.6-liter V8 unit capable to produce 400 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a seven-speed transmission with Adaptive Shift Control. Buyers will have to choose between 2wd and 4wd. The driver can set snow and tow modes if necessary. The new QX80 will be one of the most potent SUVs in the premium market with towing capacity over 8,500 pounds. Well, its fuel consumption pays the price. With rear-wheel drive, the vehicle returns only 16 mpg. All-wheel drive is not only more expensive, but it consumes more fuel.
2020 Infiniti QX80 Release Date
Model for 2019 season arrived pretty early. However, it will have time to show off, because the 2020 Infiniti QX80 is not coming so soon. The release date won’t come during next year. We will likely have to wait until 2020 to see the SUV. However, it will pay off when the new generation hits the showrooms. Competition is monitoring situation, and we hope for quick responses from Lexus LX, Lincoln Navigator, and Cadillac Escalade.
The price of the next-gen 2020 Infiniti QX80 will jump for a couple of guards. Currently, it starts at $67,000 and $70,000 for AWD. Now, the base unit will go closer to $70k. Limited model is already over $90,000. With Monograph concept, Apple CarPlay, and other advanced features, it can go very near to the six-digit price.
