At the Brand Summit in China, Audi had an opportunity to introduce a brand-new 2019 Audi Q8. This SUV can accommodate up to five passengers and it offers an upscale design, along with the luxurious interior. The interior will get latest advanced technology and plenty of high-end materials for a maximum level of comfort.
The idea of Q8 started six years ago, and the upcoming model will share a lot of similarities with the concept from 2018. The final result is an aggressive and modern design that looks clean, great performance and handling. The Audi’s latest SUV will face tough competitors such as BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE.
2019 Audi Q8 exterior will share a lot of similarities with the Q7 model
The exterior of the 2019 Audi Q8 shows us a new direction of the company’s philosophy. The front end comes with a large single-frame grille and the octagonal opening takes. That take adds more satin finishes and the overall nose’s look is bolder. Auxiliary inlets are looking sporty while the front skid plate is in the offer as a standard. The Q8 model will share a lot of similarities with the Q7 model, especially the side profile.
The roof design is sleek, while the four-door shape is basically the same. Huge wheel arches are looking beautiful and are dominated by large alloy wheels. The rear adds a pair of exhaust outlets and another skid plate. Generally, the overall shape is very sporty and modern and it is one of the best exterior looks in a segment for sure.
2019 Audi Q8 interior redesign
The interior of the 2019 Audi Q8 looks premium and upscale. Plenty of luxurious features are in the offer, just like numerous high-end and soft-touch materials. The dash looks horizontal and it adds integrated vents. The instrument cluster offers a single display and the infotainment system adds a touchscreen. A blue ambient lighting looks beautiful and it follows different interior lines.
The new Man-Machine Interface (MMI) is placed below the shift leveler and it uses an audio feedback. Audi claims that this system is as intuitive as the smartphone. The layout of the controls is logical and within a driver’s reach. Whatsoever, the interior is clearly based on the Q7 model, and the seats are exactly the same. The legroom and headroom are better than the 2019 Q8’s competitors.
2019 Audi Q8 engine
While we wait for Audi to announce an official drivetrain lineup we expect a couple of options. Just like the Q7 model, the 2019 Audi Q8 will use a range of V6 and four-cylinder drivetrains. First in line is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit that returns 252 HP and 272 lb-ft of torque. More powerful 3.0-liter V6 is rated at 333 HP and 325 lb-ft of torque.
There could be a diesel engine in the line, the most realistic choice is a 3.0-liter TDI that produces 272 HP and 442 lb-ft of torque. The 2019 Audi Q8 will benefit from the mild hybrid system as well. A 48-volt system with a lithium-ion battery will hit the production, however, we’ll have to wait for the exact drivetrain figures.
Audi Q8 – e Tron model review
The Q8 e-Tron model will happen as well and it will combine a 3.0-liter TDI with the electric motor. This mix can create 373 HP and 516 lb-ft of torque and it will use an 8-speed automatic transmission. The mile range is rated at 35 miles on electric power exclusively.
Its front will be recognized and it will get the blue paint that looks very attractive. The front grill in this model is changed and it is now huge with great design. The interior of Audi Q8 e Tron is unknown for now but we expect some images in near time.
2019 Audi Q8 price and release date
The 2019 Audi Q8 SUV will cost more than the Q7 model for sure. While we wait for the exact pricing numbers, we are guessing for a price around $60,000. This model will go on sale in the first half of 2019. It will compete with BMW X6 and Porsche Cayenne.
