2019 Audi Q5 Engine and Specs Review

Let’s start from the beginning. The 2019 Audi Q5 will carry the same 2.0-liter TFSI unit with 4-cylinders. Once again, this will be the sole solution for the drivetrain. It has its lags, but the engine is durable, reliable, and potent. With an output of 250 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque, it can compete with the most powerful units in the compact crossover class. For the new 2019 Q5, Audi will upgrade the fuel economy with various systems and features. So, we can expect it to see around 30 mpg on the highway. A 7-speed transmission should work smoother to lure more buyers.

Diesel Engine in the US Still a Far-Fetched Option

At this moment, diesel drivetrain is not so likely to happen. Instead, engineers will develop a hybrid combo, which will combine petrol mill with an electric battery. In some other countries, the 2019 Audi Q5 will appear as a diesel. However, this kind of powertrain has high emissions. Also, bosses are still suspicious after the latest controversies with VW. In future, probably with a new generation of the Q5, Audi could release diesel unit. It won’t happen before 2021.
